Bangor University is a long established university (founded in 1884) and dedicated to academic excellence. The main fields are: Arts and Social Sciences, Science & Engineering, Education and Health Studies. The university has over 9000 students, 20 departments and over 600 teaching staff. Over half of the departments assessed to date in the teaching quality assessments have received the top rating of 'excellent'. Our teaching methods include a combination of lectures, seminars, practical sessions, field visits, and through our open-door policy, students can benefit from lecturers advice and support throughout their time at Bangor.
